Out of Our Submission Guidelines
The best thing to do when considering submitting poems to Out of Our, is to check out an issue or two. Heck, buy a subscription, it’s well worth it!
Because Out of Our is printed quarterly, the issues sometimes take on seasonal themes, but there are no subject matter or genre requirements.I typically print pieces that are 2-pages or less but will make exceptions.
We don’t print poet bios, but there is a poets page on the website which lists each poet we publish - and many have links to the poets’ own websites. We print pieces that have been published elsewhere, if they are quality works (and we assume if you submit to us that you have the right permissions to allow us to use the submitted content). Note that I may not respond but will send you an artist's copy if I use your work.
Email attachments as Word docs are preferred.
Please let me know if you have any special requests (such as not using your real name, etc.).Note that your work may appear in print and on this website, and I may nominate your work for prizes, such as the Pushcart Prize.
