Out of Our is a small quarterly poetry magazine edited and published out of San Francisco, CA. It is featured in City Lights and many more bookstores.
Recent volumes feature poems by Neeli Cherkovski, Diane DiPrima, and Jack Hirschman. Six (6) poems from 2009 issues of Out of Our were nominated for Pushcart Poetry Prizes.
This article describes what is wrong with celebrated poetry today - there is no quality poetry there. Out of Our aims to correct the wrongs made by poets and poetry editors who publish boring, senseless, random, anti-poetry - and wishes these wrongdoers would stop using the word poetry and attributing to it such as lousy reputation.

Click here to see scanned letter from Tom Weigel, reviewing Out of Our from the East Coast! "Out of Our keeps poetry alive by featuring familiar voices and by introducing the literary world to new and undiscovered underground poets. Out Of Our takes readers inside the heart of America as the poets design a floor plan of what being alive and lucid in these modern times really consists of. Many poets that have laid the groundwork for today’s new voices also speak to us from the pages of this new publication. These legendary names seem to bridge any generation gap that may be present. Out Of Our lets the reader know what has happened, what is happening and what can happen."
